Currently, Home Information Packs (HIPs) are now a mandatory requirement for all properties being sold. Until 31 May 2008, the marketing of a property cannot begin until a HIP has been commissioned.

As from 1 June 2008, the law will require marketing compliant HIPs before marketing can begin which must include an index, sale statement, title and plan, and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
